Kim Hiller is a Professor at the School of Consumer Sciences within Kansas State University. As the Barbara Weigand Professor in Interior Design & Fashion Studies and Fashion Studies Program Chair, she focuses on integrating environmental sustainability into apparel and textile education. Her work emphasizes climate change mitigation, sustainable supply chains, and qualitative research methodologies.
- Education: Ph.D. in Human Environment Design and Management (Michigan State University, 2008), M.A. in Apparel and Textiles (Michigan State University, 2003), B.S. in Human Ecology (University of Alberta, 1999)
Dr. Hiller’s research explores environmental sustainability strategies across apparel/textile production and consumption cycles, with additional expertise in sustainable development education and consumer behavior analysis. She teaches courses such as FASH 625 Apparel and Textile Business Strategies and FASH 700 Sustainability Issues in the Apparel and Textile Industry, emphasizing practical applications of sustainability principles.
