Kim Babiarz is a Senior Research Scholar at Stanford Health Policy, Stanford University. She holds a PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of California, Davis (2011). Her research focuses on fertility and family planning programs, maternal and infant health, and gender dynamics in global health. She has conducted extensive work on human trafficking in China and Southeast Asia, and currently studies quantitative approaches to human trafficking and child labor in Brazil. Dr. Babiarz specializes in large-scale program evaluations and quasi-experimental designs.
Her research spans topics including population policy impacts in China, family planning program effectiveness, and maternal health interventions in India. She collaborates with the Stanford Human Trafficking Data Lab, applying data science and AI to combat trafficking. Key affiliations include Stanford Health Policy and the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies.
