معرفی
Kieran Sweeney serves as a Research Fellow in the Multimorbidity PhD programme for Health Professionals at the Usher Institute within the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at The University of Edinburgh. He is based at the Advanced Care Research Centre (ACRC), a multi-disciplinary research program focused on improving care provision for individuals with multiple long-term conditions.
His research interests encompass multimorbidity, healthcare systems design for aging populations, and interdisciplinary approaches to chronic disease management. The ACRC combines expertise from medicine, engineering, informatics, data science, and social sciences to develop innovative solutions that enhance quality of life, dignity, and independence for people living with multiple conditions in later life.
As part of the ACRC, Kieran contributes to research initiatives addressing care transitions, system engineering in health services, and developing support pathways for informal caregivers. The center collaborates with Newcastle University, University College London, and multiple affiliated research groups including SET4, AIM CISC, and NESSIE.
Kieran's work aligns with the ACRC's mission to improve care quality and sustainability while reducing inequalities. Researchers at the center are currently focusing on finalizing and disseminating research from the initial £20M funding grant from Legal and General, while continuing interdisciplinary research until December 2029.
