Khosrow Adeli

Dr. Khosrow Adeli is a Senior Scientist at the Research Institute, Head of Clinical Biochemistry at the Hospital for Sick Children, and Full Professor in the Departments of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology, Biochemistry, and Physiology at the University of Toronto. He directs the Point of Care Testing Program at SickKids and serves as Vice Chair of Quality at UofT. As President of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC) and Editor-in-Chief of Critical Reviews in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, he leads global initiatives in clinical chemistry.

• Research focuses on lipid metabolism, diabetic dyslipidemia, and the gut-brain-liver axis
• Principal investigator of the CALIPER program establishing pediatric reference intervals
• Recipient of multiple awards including Richard G. Hegele Award and AACC Academy Outstanding Research Award

His work combines fundamental studies on intestinal and hepatic lipoprotein biosynthesis with clinical projects harmonizing laboratory standards and investigating maternal-child health, obesity, and vaccine responses.
