Kevin Willison is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Sociology and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies at Lakehead University's Orillia Campus. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Health Sciences from the University of Toronto, an M.A. in Sociology from Lakehead University, and an HBA in Sociology from Queen's University. His academic career spans over 15 years, with extensive contributions to health sociology, aging, and interprofessional education.
Willison's research focuses on health care services research, social determinants of health, and the application of fuzzy logic in sociological methodologies. He has developed curricula for universities and colleges, including courses on pandemic sociology, gerontology, and research methods. His work bridges theory and practice, emphasizing community-based participatory research and integrative health strategies.
Recent presentations highlight his exploration of fuzzy logic in aging studies and chronic disease management. He has contributed to peer-reviewed publications in journals such as the Open Journal of Social Science Research and Complementary Therapies in Medicine, with a focus on health systems innovation and interprofessional collaboration.
Willison serves on multiple boards and committees, including the Research Ethics Board at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre and the Institute for Life Course and Aging at the University of Toronto. His professional roles span academia, healthcare policy, and community engagement.
