معرفی
Dr. Kevin Sheth is a Professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Yale University School of Medicine. He serves as Executive Director of the Neurocritical Care Trials Unit (NNCTU), Vice Chair for Clinical and Translational Research in Neurology and Neurosurgery, and founding Director of the Yale Center for Brain & Mind Health. His clinical expertise spans neurocritical care, stroke, and acute brain injury management. Dr. Sheth holds dual professorships in Neurology and Neurosurgery, reflecting his interdisciplinary work bridging clinical care and translational research.
- Education: BA from Johns Hopkins University (1999), MD from University of Pennsylvania (2003), Neurology residency and chief residency at Massachusetts General Hospital/Brigham & Women's Hospital (2006-2009)
Research focuses on preventing and treating acute neurological disorders such as stroke and brain hemorrhage. Key areas include brain edema mechanisms, clinical trial innovation, and developing new technologies like portable MRI. Over 300 peer-reviewed publications and leadership roles in major NIH-funded networks (StrokeNet, SIREN) highlight his translational impact. Recent work explores cardiometabolic risk factors' role in preserving brain health.
Clinical trials leadership includes:
- CHARM trial (Phase III glyburide for brain edema)
- ASPIRE trial (anticoagulation post-ICH)
- RISE-UP study (sleep apnea treatment post-stroke)
Awards include American Heart Association's Robert Siekert Award and American Society for Clinical Investigation membership. His lab collaborates across engineering, data science, and industry to accelerate bench-to-bedside solutions. Active mentorship fosters next-generation physician-scientists in neurocritical care and translational neuroscience.
