Dr. Kevin Pond serves as Dean of the Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences at West Texas A&M University and is an internationally recognized expert in animal nutrition with extensive global research experience.
His educational background includes:
- Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Cornell University
- Master of Science in Nutrition from Texas A&M University
- Ph.D. in Nutrition from Texas A&M University
Dr. Pond's research spans animal nutrition, sustainability, and food safety, with projects conducted across North America, Southeast Asia, South America, Northern Africa, the United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean. His work integrates practical agricultural applications with scientific innovation.
He has held prominent academic leadership positions including 13 years on the faculty at North Carolina State University, 15 years as Chair of Animal and Food Science at Texas Tech University, and 7 years as Head of the Department of Animal Sciences at Colorado State University. He co-authored a leading textbook on animal nutrition and holds 14 patents.
Dr. Pond and his family operate a multi-generational Texas ranch, with his wife and adult children actively involved in agriculture and food safety industries.
