معرفی
Kevin Janes is the John Marshall Money Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Professor of Biochemistry & Molecular Genetics at the University of Virginia. He holds dual appointments in Engineering and Medicine, co-leading NIH-funded initiatives in Cancer Systems Biology and Biomolecular Data Science. His research integrates engineering principles with molecular biology to address cancer and infectious disease through systems-level approaches.
Education:
- B.S./B.A. Biomedical Engineering & Spanish, Johns Hopkins University (1999)
- Ph.D. Bioengineering, MIT (2005)
- Postdoctoral Fellowship, Harvard Medical School (2005–2008)
Research Interests: Focuses on Biomedical Data Sciences, Computational Systems Biology, and Quantitative Biosciences. Develops models to analyze tumor progression, viral infections, and cellular stress responses. Recent work includes oncogenic stress adaptation in cancer cells, patient-specific breast cancer organoid models, and viral cardiomyopathy mechanisms.
Awards:
- Pew Scholar (2010)
