Kevin Baxter

Kevin Baxter, EdD, serves as Assistant Professor and Interim Chair of the Department of Leadership Studies at Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS), while also acting as Interim Director for the Ed.D. in Leadership Studies program. With a terminal degree in Leadership Studies from LSUS (2020), he holds two master's degrees in Business Administration (Centenary College) and Science (Grambling State University). Formerly a lieutenant in the Louisiana State Police and field-grade Army National Guard officer with global deployments, Baxter integrates 28 years of law enforcement and military experience into his academic work.

His research focuses on leadership dynamics across sectors, including:

Baxter teaches courses spanning police procedures (CJ 214), ethical leadership (LDSH 819), crisis management (LDSH 818), and leadership theory (LDSH 804/LDSH 101). His recent publications and teaching emphasize strategic resource allocation, conflict resolution, and organizational development.
