Kevin Adonis Browne is an Associate Professor in the Department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition at Syracuse University. His work bridges rhetoric, Caribbean studies, digital humanities, and creative nonfiction. He holds a Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University (2009) and has authored influential books like High Mas: Carnival and the Poetics of Caribbean Culture (2018), awarded the Bocas Literary Prize. Browne’s research explores visual rhetoric, vernacular archiving, and the intersection of African Diaspora thought with multimodal epistemologies.

Research Interests:
Browne’s scholarship focuses on the rhetorical and poetic dimensions of Black Caribbean cultures, digital humanities, and creative nonfiction as epistemological practice. His work integrates traditional academic writing with born-digital projects, poetry, photography, and exhibitions. He advocates for the imagination as a tool of liberation, particularly in documenting and theorizing African diasporic experiences.

Teaching & Service:

Recent grants include funding for A Sense of Arrival from the FCAR Grant Program (2023–2024).
