Kesava Mandalaneni is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Foundational Medical Studies at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine (OUWB). He brings extensive experience in medical education, particularly in neuroscience, from prior teaching and leadership roles at St. George's University in Grenada, West Indies. His work is deeply rooted in advancing equity in medical education and addressing healthcare disparities in underserved regions, especially the Caribbean.
Dr. Mandalaneni earned his medical degree (M.B.B.S.) from N.T.R. University of Health Sciences in Vijayawada, India, and completed an MSc in European Master in Stroke Medicine at Danube University, Krems, Austria. His clinical training includes specialization in stroke medicine, and he is a licensed medical practitioner in Grenada.
His research interests span stroke, neurology, medical education, healthcare disparities, and the impact of climate on health. While no specific publications are listed, his academic focus reflects a strong commitment to improving medical training and healthcare delivery in resource-poor environments. He has contributed to health projects across the Eastern Caribbean and remains deeply engaged with the Grenada Heart Foundation and national health policy through his role on the National Chronic Non-Communicable Disease Commission.
Dr. Mandalaneni is recognized for mentoring thousands of medical students, many of whom have become leaders in healthcare.
