Professor Kerry Strayer is a faculty member in the Department of Communication at Otterbein University, teaching courses including Communication Theories, Teamwork, Organizational Communication, and Gender and Communication. She co-teaches a Gen Ed course on Censorship and leads the Senior Year Experience course "Community, Change, and Leadership".

Her research centers on creating collaborative multi-generational workplaces and developing Cultural Awareness Training for medical professionals. She utilizes personality inventories (MBTI, StrengthsFinder, Enneagram) to optimize teamwork and personal efficiency, with expertise spanning Organizational Communication, Cross-generational Communication, Gender Studies, Leadership Theory, and Mentoring practices.
Professional service includes advising Lambda Pi Eta (Communication Honor Society), Alpha Lambda Delta/Phi Eta Sigma (First Year Honor Society), and Lambda Gamma Epsilon fraternity. She chairs the Academic Affairs Committee for Bluffton University's Board of Trustees and previously served on HandsOn Central Ohio and Lombard Mennonite Peace Center boards.
