Sara Holmes

Sara Holmes serves as Lecturer and Program Coordinator in the Department of Communication & Digital Media at the University of North Texas at Dallas, teaching courses from introductory communication to capstone level. She advises the Communication Arts and Technology (C.A.T.) Club and Alpha Epsilon Theta chapter of Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society, while coordinating the campus Speaking Center for public communication skill development.

Her research centers on identity representation in media and conflict resolution, informed by professional mediation work at the University of New Mexico’s Ombuds office. This expertise extends to peacebuilding applications and public relations, particularly media relations and event coordination for Dallas theatrical productions. She actively shapes faculty policy as former Senator for Non-Tenure Track Faculty and Chair of the Faculty Work Life Committee.

Professor Holmes maintains national service through the National Communication Association, participating in Mass Communication, Feminist/Women’s Studies, and Peace and Conflict Communication divisions—having served as division chair for the latter. Her leadership in drafting UNTD’s Lecturer Policy demonstrates commitment to non-tenure track faculty advocacy.
