Kerry Ramsbotham is a PhD Candidate and sessional teacher at Keele University's School of Law, researching the intersection of law, social work, and digital technologies. Her ESRC NWSSDTP-funded doctoral work examines digital contact arrangements for families in public/private law interventions under supervisors Dr. Laura Higson-Bliss and Professor Alison Brammer.
Her educational background includes:
- LLM in Law and Society (Keele University)
- MA in Social Work with distinction (dissertation on care leaver resilience)
- LLB Hons
- ITAD teaching certification
Ramsbotham's research integrates child rights frameworks with digital contact systems, extending to social exclusion, criminal justice rehabilitation through arts interventions, and support for vulnerable populations. Her applied work bridges legal theory, social work practice, and technology ethics in family welfare contexts.
Her publications demonstrate methodological expertise in systematic reviews and thematic synthesis, particularly regarding parent training for intellectual disabilities and service engagement for street-connected youth in resource-limited settings.
As a sessional teacher, she delivers Legal Essentials and European Law modules while maintaining active Socio-Legal Studies Association membership. Her collaborative research spans Cochrane reviews and national surveys, though she does not currently supervise students or lead independent grants.
