Kerri Ryan serves as an Adjunct Faculty member in the Instrumental Studies department at the Boyer College of Music and Dance, Temple University, specializing in Viola instruction. She concurrently holds a position as violist with The Philadelphia Orchestra since the 2007-08 season, following seven seasons as assistant principal viola with the Minnesota Orchestra and prior service as associate concertmaster of the Charleston Symphony.
Her educational foundation includes graduation from the Curtis Institute of Music in 1998 and participation in the Young Artist Program at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Violin studies were pursued under Lee Snyder, Jascha Brodsky, Rafael Druian, and Arnold Steinhardt, while viola training commenced with Karen Tuttle during her Curtis residency.
Professional expertise centers on String Performance with specialized focus in Viola Performance, Chamber Music, and Orchestral Performance. Her pedagogical approach integrates advanced instrumental techniques, repertoire development, and collaborative ensemble practices derived from extensive orchestral and chamber music experience.
Significant professional recognition includes co-founding the award-winning Minneapolis Quartet with her husband, violinist William Polk.
