Her research focuses on the intersection of animals, posthumanism, and children's literature. Through projects like analyzing polar bear representations in children's books and studying eco-pedagogical approaches in animation, she examines how visual texts shape environmental consciousness and human-animal relationships.
Kerenza's publications span grammar pedagogy, creative writing pedagogy, and animal representations in stories and animations. While her articles show increasing emphasis on environmental themes, her conference presentations at UKLA, IBBY, and IRSCL highlight interdisciplinary approaches to children's responses to visual texts.
