Victoria Byfield

Victoria Byfield is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Education, Sport and Health, University of Brighton. Her academic background includes a Master's in Children's Literature from Goldsmiths, University of London (2018) and a BA (QTS) in English Specialism from the University of Warwick (2006).

Her research focuses on primary education pedagogies, digital innovation in teaching, and feminist analysis of children's literature. Key interests include drama-based learning, student engagement mechanisms, and gender representation in literary works.

Recent work explores the intersection of digital forms with traditional pedagogy and examines how witches in children's literature reflect societal constructs of femininity. She has presented at conferences including the UKLA International Conference (2021) and the Symposium of Queering Children’s Literature (2020).
