Keona Lewis

Keona Lewis serves as Assistant Provost and Assistant Professor of the Practice at the University of Notre Dame, where she fosters inclusive academic environments through diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Previously, she held leadership roles at Georgia Institute of Technology including Associate Director of Research and Evaluation for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Her educational background includes:

• Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Criminology
• Doctorate in Applied Anthropology

from the University of South Florida.

Dr. Lewis's research examines systemic factors in higher education, with emphasis on the African Diaspora, ethnic identity, gender dynamics, and educational equity. Her practical work develops training programs addressing conscious/unconscious biases and microaggressions, informed by teaching experience in anthropology, cultural diversity, and criminal justice perspectives at Kennesaw State University.

Professional contributions include chairing Georgia Tech's Diversity Champion Awards Committee and co-chairing the Police Department Community Council, demonstrating cross-functional leadership in institutional transformation.
