Kenneth R. Minschwaner

Ken Minschwaner is the Marvin H. Wilkening Professor of Physics at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (NMT), where he has been affiliated with the Physics Department since 1994. He teaches across the physics curriculum, ranging from introductory courses in climate and sustainability to advanced graduate-level quantum mechanics.

His research focuses on the Earth's atmosphere, spanning ground-based and balloon measurements of atmospheric composition, satellite-based retrievals of atmospheric properties, global space-based analysis of atmospheric phenomena, and computational modeling. Key research areas include climate studies, ozone dynamics (stratospheric and tropospheric), photochemistry, thermosphere behavior, and space weather.
