Margaret Tolbert

Margaret Tolbert is a Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at the University of Colorado Boulder and an Institute Fellow at the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES). Her laboratory focuses on heterogeneous atmospheric chemistry, investigating aerosols and clouds in Earth's atmosphere and planetary bodies like Mars, Venus, and Titan. She employs advanced techniques including aerosol optical levitation, mass spectrometry, and spectroscopy to study particle nucleation, phase transitions, and climate impacts.
