Dr. Kenneth Leitch is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at West Texas A&M University (WTAMU), where he joined in 2009. He holds a B.S. (1995), M.S. (1997), and Ph.D. (2002) in Civil Engineering from New Mexico State University, and an MBA (2009) from Colorado Christian University. His teaching spans civil, mechanical, and general engineering topics, including structural analysis, transportation engineering, and finite element analysis.
Dr. Leitch’s research focuses on engineering education pedagogy, structural analysis, materials testing, and 3D modeling techniques. He co-authored studies on sustainability integration in curricula, solar energy systems, and interdisciplinary research collaboration through the Water Working Group. His work bridges theoretical and applied engineering, emphasizing innovation in education and infrastructure solutions.
He actively contributes to professional organizations such as the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) and the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). His research and teaching leverage facilities like the ECORE Lab and Human-Machine Teaming Laboratory, fostering student engagement in sustainable technologies and community-oriented engineering projects.
