Dr. Kenneth Lee Broadway is a Professor and Director of Percussion Studies at the University of Florida, School of Music. He has held similar roles at the University of South Dakota and Augusta State University since 1997. His expertise spans percussion performance, education, and cross-cultural music research. He has led ensembles at international conventions and festivals, including the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (1998–2024).
Dr. Broadway holds BM, MM, and DMA degrees from the University of Georgia. His research includes residencies in Ecuador, the UK, Cuba, India, and Kenya, focusing on global percussion traditions. He has performed on six continents and collaborated with ethno-musicologists through the World Music Mission.
As a performer and composer, he has appeared at the Midwest Clinic, College Music Society International Convention, and other global conferences. His works are published by C. Alan Publications, and he has recordings on the Mark Custom and Capstone labels with the LYNX Duo.
He has served as Past President of the National Association of College Wind and Percussion Instructors and multiple chapters of the Percussive Arts Society. He is endorsed by Yamaha, Remo, Sabian, and Salyers Percussion.
