Ken Fox is a Professor at the School of Business, Hamline University, and currently serves as a faculty chair. He was founding director of conflict studies at Hamline from 1996 to 2022 and has been actively involved in dispute resolution scholarship and practice for decades.
- Education: BA in Rhetoric (University of California), JD (Cornelius Honor Society) (Northwestern School of Law at Lewis and Clark College), and Rotary undergraduate scholar in philosophy (University of Liege, Belgium).
Professor Fox’s research focuses on conflict theory, mediation, and negotiation, with an emphasis on constructive approaches to conflict resolution in individual, group, and societal contexts. His work extends to peacebuilding, civic education, and civil society development, informed by his international teaching and consulting across 19 countries.
Ken Fox was awarded the Fulbright Senior Specialist grant for teaching law and conflict resolution at Riga Graduate School of Law in Latvia. He is a Senior Fellow at Mitchell | Hamline School of Law’s Dispute Resolution Institute and was named a Hamline University Professor in 2023.
- Teaches annually at the Institute of Training in Mediation and Negotiation (IFOMENE), Catholic University of Paris.
- Has also taught at Deusto University (Bilbao, Spain) and Hong Kong Shue Yan University.
His practical experience includes U.S. State Department-funded civic education and conflict transformation projects in the Middle East, working directly with Israeli, Palestinian, Jordanian, and Lebanese stakeholders.
