Dr. Ken Brackstone is a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton's Faculty of Medicine, based in the Clinical Informatics Research Unit. He holds a Ph.D. in social/personality psychology from the University of Southampton (2015), focusing on nostalgia's role in psychological resilience. His current work spans global health research, including war trauma effects in conflict zones, Ukrainian displacement mental health, and telehealth usability improvements for healthcare professionals in Brazil and Ghana. He collaborates with the International Blast Injury Research Network (IBRN) and the Centre for Population Change (CPC), and serves on the WHO Technical Advisory Group for migrant/refugee healthcare training. Key research areas include refugee health resilience, vaccine hesitancy in West Africa, and blast exposure impacts.
Education: Ph.D. in Social/Personality Psychology (University of Southampton, 2015). Research affiliations include the National Centre for Research Methods and Institute for Life Sciences. He organizes international conferences for the Clinical Informatics Research Unit and contributes to telehealth guidance initiatives.
