Kelsey Grissom is an Assistant Professor of Religion at Huntingdon College, a United Methodist-affiliated institution. She is an ordained elder in The United Methodist Church and brings extensive pastoral experience from serving five congregations in North Alabama. Her academic and professional work centers on scriptural interpretation, Christian theology, and the promotion of women's leadership in the church.
Dr. Grissom holds a B.A. in Music and Religion from Birmingham-Southern College, an M.Div. from Candler School of Theology at Emory University, and a D.Min. in Scriptural Interpretation and Proclamation, also from Candler. Prior to her current role, she served as a Visiting Assistant Lecturer of Religion at Birmingham-Southern College.
Her research and teaching focus on the interpretation of Hebrew and Christian Scriptures, the development of Christian history and theology, and practical applications of faith in congregational settings. She emphasizes inclusive ecclesial practices and theological education accessible to both academic and lay audiences.
Her recent publications include devotional and educational works such as "Why is Our Peace Broken?" and Partners in Prayer: Advent, which reflect her engagement with spiritual formation, pastoral care, and liturgical life. These works demonstrate a consistent thematic focus on prayer, scripture, and faith formation across age groups.
