Kelly Young is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the School of Social Work, Wichita State University, within the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She holds a PhD candidate status and credentials as an LMSW (Licensed Master Social Worker) and LMAC (Licensed Master Addiction Counselor). With 30 years of professional experience, her career spans child welfare, domestic violence victim advocacy, and policy reform.

Her professional journey began at the Kansas Department for Children and Families (DCF) in 1993. From 2001, she focused on domestic violence advocacy, leading policy initiatives at local and state levels in Kansas. Returning to child welfare in 2011, she contributed to the Kansas Parent Management Training- Oregon Model (PMTO) through coaching, training, and fidelity rating.
Her research and practice emphasize evidence-based interventions in child welfare systems, domestic violence response mechanisms, and systemic policy improvements. She currently integrates these experiences into teaching and clinical supervision at Wichita State.
