Kelli L. Ceraolo is a Lecturer in Criminal Justice at the University of Kansas Edwards Campus, concurrently serving as a prosecutor in the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office. She holds a BA in English from Creighton University and a JD with high honors from the University of Nebraska College of Law, where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Nebraska Law Review. Her career includes judicial clerkship for Nebraska Supreme Court Chief Justice Michael Heavican, prosecution roles at state and federal levels (including Assistant U.S. Attorney), and specialized focus on child abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, white-collar crime, and human trafficking cases.
Professor Ceraolo’s research and professional interests center on criminal justice reform, child protection, and legal advocacy. She has been honored with awards for her work in child welfare and federal prosecution. She teaches legal writing and advocacy at Mitchell Hamline School of Law and the University of Nebraska College of Law, and provides continuing education for law enforcement and legal professionals.
Her current role involves prosecuting child homicides and serious crimes across Nebraska, alongside capital case post-conviction litigation. She actively contributes to interdisciplinary efforts in criminal justice through teaching and legal practice.
