Dr. Kelly Wheeler is an Assistant Professor of Writing at Curry College in Milton, MA. She earned her Ph.D. from the Joint Program in English and Education at the University of Michigan in 2022, following 21 years of teaching English at the secondary level in Washington State. Her academic credentials include an MAT from the University of Puget Sound and an MA in English Composition and Rhetoric from the University of South Carolina.
Her research explores intersections of rhetoric, digital access, and identity. Key projects include analyzing the use of Makerspaces in First-Year Writing classes, studying digital disability access, and examining how identity influences propaganda effectiveness in online spaces. Her current work maps the rhetorical function of swastikas within communities as symbols of justice or injustice.
