Kelly Wang

Kelly Wang is a Lecturer in the Accounting Discipline Group at the UTS Business School, University of Technology Sydney (UTS). She joined UTS in 2018 and previously held roles at UNSW Sydney, including teaching Strategic Management Accounting and serving as Laboratory Manager. Her academic journey includes a part-time PhD in Accounting from UNSW (2013–2018) and earlier degrees from Macquarie University. Prior to academia, she worked in accounting and control roles in aviation and travel sectors, including at Cathay Pacific Airways.

Her research focuses on management control systems, big data analytics, and their impacts on organizational creativity and innovation. Key topics include heuristic-constrained decision-making, ambidexterity, and the role of technology in new product development. Methodologically, she employs experimental and survey-based approaches to explore behavioral dimensions of accounting practices.
