Deborah Debono is an Associate Professor in the Health Services Management Program at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) School of Public Health. She holds concurrent roles as Deputy Head of School (Teaching and Learning) and has extensive clinical experience as a nurse and midwife. Her research focuses on healthcare workarounds, implementation science, patient safety, and quality improvement. She earned a PhD from UNSW Sydney (2015) and has held academic positions at UTS, Macquarie University, and UNSW. Her work spans clinical trials, health service accreditation, and interdisciplinary collaborations. Notable contributions include the CASCADES framework for adapting child health services and studies on LGBTQ+ healthcare experiences. She actively contributes to academic leadership roles, including Director of Studies for the Health Services Management Program.
