Professor Kelly Kollman is a Professor of Politics at the University of Glasgow, specializing in Political & International Studies. Her research focuses on policy diffusion, LGBTI+ rights, and corporate social responsibility (CSR). She joined the university in 2005 and holds a PhD from George Washington University. Previously, she was an assistant professor at Carleton College.
Her research explores how international norms influence domestic policies, particularly in Western democracies. Key areas include same-sex unions legislation, corporate responsibility practices, and transnational advocacy networks. She has received grants from the Carnegie Trust, ESRC, and Leverhulme Trust for projects like Borderless Politics and Responsible Lobbyists?.
Her work has been published in top journals such as World Politics, International Studies Quarterly, and Contemporary Politics. Recent studies examine CSR’s role in corporate lobbying dynamics and urbanization’s impact on LGBTI rights. She co-authored The Same-Sex Unions Revolution (2013), analyzing transnational activism’s policy effects.
Teaching includes courses on comparative politics, business & politics, and qualitative research methods. She advises students on topics like sustainability reporting and CSR practices.
