Dr. Alvise Favotto is a Senior Lecturer in the Accounting & Finance department at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, where he joined in 2015. His research focuses on management control systems, corporate accountability, social and environmental accounting, corporate political activity, and labor rights. Previously, he worked in Political Science at the University of Glasgow and at Ca’ Foscari, University of Venice.

His recent publications (2022-2025) explore speculative accountability for animal kinship, risk governance in public sector networks, and intersections between human rights and CSR. He supervises PhD students in areas like sustainability accounting, organizational socialization, and corporate tax practices.
Teaching includes Financial Information and Analysis (MBA), International Corporate Governance & Accountability (PG), and Social & Environmental Accounting (PG/UG). He has received grants from the Leverhulme Trust and ESRC for CSR and policy research.
