Federica Nieri is an Assistant Professor (RTD-B) at the Department of Economics and Management, University of Pisa. She holds a PhD in Management from the same institution. Her research focuses on understanding how multinational corporations (MNEs) adapt their social conduct in response to institutional environments, particularly regarding human rights controversies and corporate social irresponsibility. She employs econometric analyses to study MNE behavior in emerging and advanced economies.
Her academic career includes a visiting PhD fellowship at the Darla Moore School of Business (University of South Carolina) and the Joerg Meyer Stamer Research Fellowship. She contributes to the International Business and Human Rights focus area at REMARC (Analysis and Policy for Responsible Management and Sustainable Development).
Key research themes include:

- Emerging market firms' legitimacy strategies
