- Boston University, M.A., French Language and Literature
Her research centers on feminist reinterpretations of French literary canon through gender theory, examining religious institutions, utopian spaces, and coming-of-age narratives in works by Diderot, de Gouges, Wittig, and de Beauvoir. She pioneers pedagogical innovation by integrating contemporary pop culture, slang, and film analysis into language instruction to enhance student engagement with historical and social contexts.
Keenan's 2022 publication in Symposium exemplifies her interdisciplinary approach, connecting convent narratives to gender power structures. Her conference presentations consistently bridge literary analysis with classroom application, revealing trends in decolonizing curricula through Rwandan genocide film studies, Catholic school memoirs, and francophone border theory.
Through Messina mentoring (2023-present), French Club moderation (2022-present), and MLL Ambassador leadership (2022-present), she cultivates immersive language communities while directing the LEAP Program (2023) to expand educational access.
