Kelly Bogue

Dr Kelly Bogue is a Research Fellow at the Research Centre for Peace and Security, serving since 2017, and previously the Postgraduate Research Tutor (2018–2023). She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Manchester (2017), focusing on UK welfare reforms like the 'Bedroom Tax,' culminating in her book The Divisive State of Social Policy (2019). Her work emphasizes ethnographic methods to analyze policy impacts on housing, austerity, and societal divisions.

Research Interests: Dr Bogue investigates social change, policy-driven societal divisions, and housing insecurity. Collaborations: She has partnered with the West Midlands Combined Authority, Local Government Association, and Home Office on policy evaluations. Her work bridges academia and practice, emphasizing real-world impact through community engagement and policy analysis.

Programs & Initiatives: Co-founder of the Citizen Social Science programme, which trains community researchers and supports grassroots projects. Her research often addresses urban challenges, austerity impacts, and the intersection of housing policy with socio-political stability.
