Kellie McCombie

Kellie McCombie is a Lecturer - Teaching Intensive at the School of Business, University of Wollongong, within the Faculty of Business and Law. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and a Master of Commerce (Honours) in Accounting from the University of Wollongong. Her research interests focus on financial accounting, accounting education, institutional frameworks, and critical modernist theories, with a continued exploration of alternative theoretical approaches in accounting.

Her academic journey began in 1994 as a casual tutor in the School of Business, progressing to her current position since 2021. She specializes in undergraduate financial accounting education across first, second, and third-year levels. Notable research outputs include a 2018 case study on the National Disability Insurance Scheme in Wollongong and a 2009 thesis analyzing institutionalization of accounting language in Australia.

Her work bridges practical education and theoretical research, emphasizing institutional frameworks and critical perspectives in accounting practices.
