Kelcey Ervick is a Professor of English and Director of Creative Writing at Indiana University South Bend, where she has taught since 2006. She holds a Ph.D. in Creative Writing & Literature from the University of Cincinnati, an M.A. from the same institution, and a B.A. from Xavier University. Her academic leadership includes directing the Creative Writing Program since 2007, serving on European Studies, American Studies, and Student Publications committees, and advising the literary journal Analecta.
Her research explores creative writing pedagogy, contemporary fiction, and narrative theory through interdisciplinary approaches. She merges literary analysis with visual arts in courses like 'Art, Aesthetics, & Creativity: Narrative Collage,' where students publish original collage-based books. Her scholarly work examines New Formalism and Gothic literary traditions, while her creative publications include award-winning fiction collections.
Professor Ervick has received significant recognition, including:

- Two Trustees' Teaching Awards (2009, 2011)
- Pushcart Prize nominations for short fiction
- Finalist placements for Best Books of Indiana and New American Fiction Prize
She has secured multiple grants supporting literary arts, including from the Indiana Arts Commission and Sustainable Arts Foundation. She directs overseas study programs in Berlin/Prague focused on art and political resistance.
