Deirdre Fagan is a Professor and Assistant Department Chair at Ferris State University's College of Arts, Sciences and Education, specializing in the Department of English, Literature, and World Languages. She holds a DA in English and Philosophy from University at Albany, an MA in English, and a BA in English Literature.
Her research explores creative writing pedagogy, poetic analysis (particularly Robert Frost and Emily Dickinson), and the intersection of personal narrative with universal human experiences. Fagan examines grief, caregiving, and emotional resilience through multiple genres including poetry, memoir, and literary criticism.
Fagan's publications consistently engage with themes of loss and human connection across poetry, fiction, and literary criticism. Her recent works reflect an interdisciplinary approach combining literary theory with psychological insights into trauma and healing.
