Daniel B. Summerhill is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Santa Clara University's College of Arts and Sciences. His work bridges creative writing, literary criticism, and cultural studies, with a focus on themes of identity, race, and place. He is the author of two poetry collections: *Mausoleum of Flowers* (2022) and *Divine, Divine, Divine* (2021), both critically acclaimed in literary circles. Summerhill’s research has been published in journals like *The Massachusetts Reading Association* and *Writing Program Administration Journal*, emphasizing pedagogy and programmatic innovation.
As a poet and scholar, Summerhill has been recognized with prestigious nominations (Pushcart, Best of the Net) and fellowships from Baldwin for the Arts and The Watering Hole. His international engagement includes a 2018 U.S. Embassy-invited residency at the Poetry Africa Festival in Durban, South Africa.
