University of North Texas Health Science Centerمعرفی
Dr. Kejin Hu is an Associate Professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center's College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences, affiliated with the Department of Microbiology, Immunology & Genetics. He holds a PhD in Marine Molecular Biology and has extensive postdoctoral training in diverse fields including C. elegans genetics and stem cell biology.
Education:
- BS in Agronomy, Central China Agriculture University
- Postdoctoral Fellowship in C. Elegans Genetics, Cornell University
- MPH in Fungal Biochemistry, Hong Kong Polytechnic University
- PhD in Marine Molecular Biology, The University of Hong Kong
- Postdoctoral Fellowships in Human Pluripotent Stem Cells (University of Wisconsin-Madison) and Budding Yeast Biochemistry/Genetics (University of Pittsburgh)
Research Interests: His lab focuses on human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) reprogramming, BET protein functions in cellular stress and inflammation, and alternative BET inhibition strategies. Key contributions include discovering BRD3R's role in iPSC generation, developing concepts like 'reprogramming stress' and 'reprogramome,' and redefining mammalian totipotency.
Grants & Projects:
- BET Regulation of Mitosis and Pluripotency Establishment (NIGMS-funded, 2018–2024)
Labs & Teams: The Hu Lab employs technologies like molecular biology, CRISPR, bioinformatics, and transgenic mouse models. They collaborate on BET protein roles in disease and iPSC-based therapies.
