Keith Fleming is a Professor of History at the University of Western Ontario, specializing in Canadian history, business history, and Ontario political history. He holds a PhD from the same university (1988) and has served as a prominent academic with teaching roles in courses like 'Making Money: The History of Business and Capitalism' and 'Global History of Populism.' His research focuses on political protest in Ontario, the Ontario Liberal Party, and biographies of influential Canadian figures such as John King Gordon and Walter Edward Harris.
Recent research includes monographs on Ontario's political dissent from the mid-19th century and the Ontario Liberal Party's history. Fleming has also contributed to Journal of Canadian Studies with an analysis of civil disobedience in Canada from 1960–2012. His work often bridges social, political, and economic history, emphasizing the role of activism and institutional structures.
Fleming has been recognized for teaching excellence, appearing on the University Student Council Teaching Honour Roll multiple times since 2007. His publications span books, journal articles, and reviews, reflecting a career dedicated to exploring Canada's economic, political, and social evolution. He currently supervises graduate students in MA and PhD programs, focusing on topics related to Canadian business and political history.
