Keisha M Cutright is a Professor of Marketing at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. She holds a Ph.D. in Marketing from Duke (2011) and a B.S. from Ohio State University (2003). Her research focuses on psychological drivers of consumer behavior, including personal control, religion’s influence on purchasing decisions, and brand communication strategies. Notably, she explores how religious beliefs affect trust in AI, fear-based advertising, and self-improvement product preferences.
Her work appears in top journals like Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, and Marketing Science. Media coverage includes Wall Street Journal, TIME, and Fast Company. Cutright is an Associate Editor for Journal of Marketing Research and Journal of Consumer Psychology. She teaches courses in Marketing Management, Branding, and Consumer Behavior.
Her research highlights include discovering that reminders of God reduce fear-based ad effectiveness and that formal attire boosts shopping expenditures. Current roles include serving on editorial boards and advising students. She previously worked in brand management at Procter & Gamble.
