Keena M. Kareem is Professor of Practice in Tulane University's Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences within the School of Science & Engineering. Her research explores igneous/metamorphic petrology, Archean mantle geochemistry, and petroleum geology applications.
She holds a Ph.D. from Louisiana State University (2005) and B.S. from Tulane University (1999). Publications focus on Archaean komatiites from the Barberton Greenstone Belt, using oxygen isotopes and melt inclusions to study early Earth mantle heterogeneity and thermal conditions.
Collaborative work with G.R. Byerly advances understanding of Precambrian magmatic processes through microanalytical geochemistry.
