Kaye Chon is a distinguished academic serving as Dean, Chair Professor, and Walter and Wendy Kwok Family Foundation Professor in International Hospitality Management at the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHRM), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He previously held academic positions at the University of Houston, University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), and Virginia Tech in the United States.
- Current Affiliations: Dean of SHRM, Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing and the Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research.
His education includes degrees from four prestigious institutions: University of Maryland, Georgia State University, University of Nevada–Las Vegas, and Virginia Tech. His research focuses on hospitality management, tourism policy, and international tourism dynamics, with a strong emphasis on bridging academic knowledge and industry practice.
Over his career, Chon has published extensively, including over 200 international journal papers and 12 books. Notably, his co-authored textbook Welcome to Hospitality is widely used in global hospitality education programs. He is also the founder of the Asia Tourism Forum, established in 1993, which has become a biennial platform for tourism scholars and practitioners.
