Arjan van Rheede

Arjan van Rheede is a Senior Research Fellow and Senior Lecturer at Hotelschool The Hague, where he has worked since 2004. He also serves as Project Leader at the SDG Office, focusing on sustainability transitions, particularly in the circular economy. His academic background includes a PhD from the Faculty of Management & Organization at Groningen University and an M.Sc. in Environmental Policy from Radboud University's Nijmegen School of Management.

His research spans sustainability strategy implementation, organizational change in hospitality, psychological contract theory, and work-family conflict. Since 2010, he has studied eco-label adoption, CO2 reduction policies, and sustainable hospitality practices.

Recent publications focus on circular economy applications, corporate sustainability frameworks, and stakeholder dynamics. He received the KIEM Grant for 'Implementing circular practices in hotels' and served as a jury member for the EHMA Sustainability Award (2022). Prior roles include researcher at IOWO (1997-1998) and work on labor market issues in hospitality.
