Katryna Andrusik is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Counseling, Higher Education, and Special Education at the University of Maryland, College Park. She joined the faculty in Fall 2023 and holds a Ph.D. in Special Education from UMD (2011), an M.S. in Education (Reading Specialist) from Johns Hopkins University, and a B.A. from the same institution. Her work bridges research and practice in special education and literacy instruction.

Dr. Andrusik’s research focuses on teacher preparation, adolescent literacy, and inclusive education. She teaches courses in special education and disability studies, including Disability: From Stigma to Mainstream and Assessment for Special Education. She actively contributes to academic governance through roles such as Department Representative on the College of Education Undergraduate Committee and membership in the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC).
Outside academia, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Wilderness, Leadership and Learning (WILL) program for D.C. youth and volunteers with Baltimore-area animal rescue organizations, managing foster care and event committees.
