Katja Schmidt

Dr. Katja Schmidt serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Foreign Language Didactics at the University of Rostock since 2013, specializing in English language methodology. She provides academic advising for teaching qualification students and acts as an examiner for state teaching examinations, with office hours currently delegated to Dr. Nora Benitt until August 31, 2026.

Education:

She investigates linguistic phenomena including Anglicisms in Russian and autonomy-promoting pedagogical methods like 'learning by teaching'.

Academic Service: Dr. Schmidt coordinates the Teacher Education Exchange Program with the University of Nebraska at Kearney and co-organizes the annual University Information Day for prospective teaching students. Her service extends to examiner duties for state teaching qualifications and prior ERASMUS Programme coordination at the International Office (2001).
