Associate Professor Kathy Waghorn is the Acting Head of Department (Architecture) at Monash University's Department of Architecture, part of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture. She is co-director of HOOPLA, a New Zealand-based practice specializing in ultra-local urban research and place advocacy. Her work bridges academia and practice, focusing on how places are understood, valued, and reimagined through community engagement. Waghorn holds a PhD from RMIT (2017) titled 'Practising a Feeling for Place' and has taught at the University of Auckland and AUT University.
