Kathy Goei is an Associate Professor at the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, University of the Incarnate Word (UIW), where she teaches in the Foundational Sciences, Physical Therapy Reasoning, and Patient Client Management threads. She joined UIW in 2008 in the School of Nursing and Health Professions and transitioned to the School of Rehabilitation Sciences in 2013 as an adjunct, becoming a full-time faculty member in January 2020.
Her research focuses on nutrition and aging, physical activity and wellness, interprofessional practice, and physiologic responses to stress. She is passionate about integrating scientific principles into clinical education and fostering student enthusiasm for science. Her teaching spans undergraduate and graduate levels, including courses in physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology for nursing and nuclear medicine students.
Kathy has been recognized for her professional and community contributions, notably receiving the Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing in 2012 from San Antonio’s Medical Center Rotary Club.
