Dr. Monica Mendez is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW), School of Rehabilitation Sciences. She holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy from UIW and a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sports Science from St. Mary’s University. Her work focuses on addressing healthcare disparities, particularly in underserved and rural communities, and promoting cross-cultural awareness in healthcare. Dr. Mendez is an active member of Los Quijotes of San Antonio Health Ambassadors, providing free healthcare services to indigenous populations in Oaxaca, Mexico.
